Nepeta x 'Joanna Reed' – Joanna Reed Catmint
From the garden of Joanna Reed, the much-respected gardener of Longview Farms in Malvern, Pennsylvania, comes this natural cross between Nepeta sibirica and Nepeta faassenii. The flowers are a darker violet than other Nepetas, and it grows a good 3’ tall. Tested over several years to ensure quality by Joanna, our PA sales representative, David Culp (often referred to as ‘The High Priest of Horticulture’) saw this plant and realized immediately that it was a winner. David christened it ‘Joanna Reed’ in honor of its discoverer.

Nepeta longipes
A tall growing catmint, this one has lilac flowers instead of the usual violet. Flowers bloom on long dense spikes June through September. Grows 3-3 1/2’ tall. Easy to grow in full sun and any well-drained soil; you get a lot of plant without much fuss. Yes, it has fragrant flowers and foliage but our pussycats have not found it to be as irresistible as other catmints or true catnip. The lavender and gray of this plant serve well as a foil for peonies, poppies, irises and various daisies.

Omphalodes cappadocica 'Joy Skies' – Joy Skies Navelwort
A selection by Terry Hatch of New Zealand, this Omphalodes features light sky blue flowers in mid-spring on a plant with lance-shaped leaves growing just 6-10” tall. Best performance is in filtered shade and moist soil, although it will also tolerate dry shade. More durable and better behaved than its near relative, the forget-me-not, ‘Joy Skies’ is a good plant for the woodland garden.
