| Phlox paniculata 'Becky Towe' Summer Phlox |
A Plant Haven introduction, this plant was discovered by Mrs. June Towe and named after her pet dog, a much-loved Flatcoated Retriever. This new variegated phlox offers broadly golden leaf edges which pale to butter-cream at flowering time. The variegation does not turn white like other variegated phloxes. The golden spring foliage is often accented by a bronze overlay on the tops of young shoots. The variegated foliage is also very resistant to sun-scorch. Sweetly scented salmon-carmine rose flowers with a darker magenta eye bloom in late July to early September. More compact than most Summer Phlox, it grows just 2028". Not for the faint of heart. P.P.A.F.

A Cotswold Garden introduction from England, this cultivar has mostly silver leaves with green edges and some green spots near the edges of the leaves. Large violet-blue flowers with a longitudinal purple stripe between the lobes of the corolla. This is a vigorous grower that will form multiple-crowned plants. Unlike most pulmonaria, it does not respond well to cutting back. It grows 810" tall and blooms in early spring.
Sun Exposure: Partial Sun to Shade
Cold Hardiness: Zone 39
Spacing: 12"

Like most Sedums it prrefers full sun and well-drained soil. A great plant for contrasting with a wide assortment of perennials, grasses or other Sedums!

One of the most beautiful of our native flowers, this exquisite woodland perennial makes a dainty looking clump about 12" tall by 12" wide which in late spring produces spectacular trumpet-shaped upward-facing, tubular, bright red flowers with dramatically contrasting yellow start-shaped centers. It blooms from the bottom upward above the green ovate leaves. Removing spent flowers during the spring can prolong the flowering season. A native to moist woodlands, this plant prefers slightly acid soil rich with humus. It will not grow well under shallow-rooted trees such as maples.
Sun Exposure: Partial Sun to Partial Shade
Cold Hardiness: Zones 59
Spacing: 12"
Growth Rate: Moderate
Water and Soil Needs: Moist, slightly acid, humus rich soil.
