Phlox divaricata 'Blue Elf' – Woodland Phlox
This new dwarf woodland phlox grows only 6” tall and has medium blue flowers that bloom in May. It grows best in partial shade and spreads slowly by creeping rhizomes to form a groundcover. Plants should be cut back after flowering to encourage additional growth. Why not toss out that invasive, Japanese Pachysandra and let this delightful native be your flowering groundcover?

Stunning new foliage emerges in spring as bright golden variegation later turning to light green, and cream. Typical obedient-like flowers, which are pale pink, occur during the summer. The older the clumps are, the more dramatic the effect. Amaze your friends by showing them how each floret can be turned 60 degrees to the right or left and will obediently hold that position. Grows 30” tall.

Sanguisorba menziesii 'Dali Marble' – Burnet
Previously unknown to horticulture but with great potential, this is an excellent plant for ponds and moist soils. Seven years ago Pierre Bennerup collected seeds of the parent on the side of a small pond at 10,500’ elevation in the marble-rich mountains above Dali in Yunnan Province, southwest China. One of the resulting seedlings was variegated. By dividing that plant yearly we have finally produced enough plants to offer. It grows 4’ tall and produces beautiful maroon, bottlebrush-like flowers in July and August. The blue-green toothed leaves have an eye-riveting white edge. PPAF, propogation is prohibited.

Sedum 'Lynda Windsor' – Stonecrop
Last year we introduced a great new Sedum called ‘Purple Emperor’ which has chocolate-purple foliage with dusty red, almost pink flowers. This year we have a new Sedum with foliage that has a violet undertone, making it the darkest foliage of any Sedum to date. The flowers are the deepest ruby-red of any Sedum we’ve seen and appear in August and September. Grows about 16” tall. You have enough green in your garden. You really need this. PPAF-EUBR 9021, propogation is prohibited.

Syneilesis aconitifolia – Shredded Umbrella Plant
This is a rare woodland plant, native to Japan and Korea often found on dry hillsides. In early spring, the white wooly leaves push through the ground like may apples. The fascinating foliage flattens out atop 18” stems by mid-spring. As the rhizomes slowly spread, it will form a colony of plants about 2’ wide in 5 years. The flowers are insignificant, but the foliage, which does indeed resemble shredded umbrellas, is sure to grab attention.
